The 2019 BMW Z4 M40i (codenamed: E89) is a German two-door sports roadster manufactured by BMW. The Z4 M40i was the first of the fifth generation (G29) model range of the Z4 to be publicly shown, and is the the successor to the previous generation's (E89) high performance trim level; the sDrive35is. The vehicle was unveiled at the Concours d’Elegance event in Pebble Beach, California on August 23, 2018, and was designed by Calvin Luk.
Under the hood, the BMW Z4 M40i comes equipped with a 3.0L turbocharged I6 engine (codenamed: B58B30) developing 335 horsepower between 5,000–6,500 revolutions per minute.
The vehicle was developed alongside with the fifth generation of the Toyota Supra due to BMW's partnership with Toyota. Dubbed the "Zupra" twins, two cars share many components between each other - most notably BMW's inline-six B58 engine teamed with Toyota's chassis and suspension tuning - to the extent of both being assembled at the same Magna Steyr factory in Graz, Austria.
The Crew 2
The BMW Z4 M40i made its first appearance in The Crew 2 where the vehicle was added to the game on March 17, 2021 as part of the Agency update. The vehicle is listed as a Street Race and is only available as such. It can be purchased with either 420.700 or with 60,100.
Agent Edition
A special variant of the Z4 M40i named Agent edition is a modified version of the car that features a red paintjob with an altered body kit with a special taillight that goes behind the spoiler (similar to the 3.0 CSL Hommage). It was only obtainable by reaching the top 3000 position (platinum) in the No One's Fool LIVE Summit that was active between March 31 to April 7, 2021.
