Cadillac is an American car manufacturer based in Warren, Detroit, Michigan. Cadillac was founded in 1902 by Henry M. Leland and originated from the Henry Ford Company, the predecessor company of both Ford and Cadillac.
Cadillac is derived from Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac, the founder of the city of Detroit who was also an ancestor to Henry M. Leland.
Cadillac is today a subsidary company of General Motors that also owns the brands of Chevrolet, Buick and GMC.
